  • 2 1/23 3/4 cups organic all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (0.25 oz) active dry yeast
  • 2 tbsp cane sugar
  • 2 tbsp melted vegan butter (+ more for topping)
  • 1 cup slightly warm water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • Coarse salt for topping

Instructions

  1. Prepare the yeast mixture by combining slightly warm water and sugar. Sprinkle yeast over the top and let it sit until frothy (about 10 minutes).
  2. Stir in melted vegan butter, then gradually add salt and flour until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 3-5 minutes until firm.
  4. Let the dough rise in an oiled bowl covered for one hour until doubled.
  5. Simmer water and add baking soda while preheating your oven to 450°F.
  6. Shape the dough into pretzel forms, dip each in boiling water for about 20 seconds, then place on a baking tray.
  7. Brush with melted vegan butter and sprinkle coarse salt before baking for 10-15 minutes until golden brown.
