  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornmeal (optional)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill
  • 1 teaspoon parsley
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 12 tablespoons milk (to adjust consistency)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the ranch dressing by whisking together mayonnaise, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, dill, parsley, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Adjust consistency with milk as needed and refrigerate.
  2. In one bowl, combine flour, cornmeal (if using), garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. In another bowl, whisk eggs and milk together.
  3. Dip each mushroom slice into the egg mixture and then into the flour mixture to coat thoroughly.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350°F (175°C). Fry the mushrooms in batches for about 2-3 minutes until golden brown. Use a slotted spoon to remove them and drain on paper towels.
  5. Serve warm with chilled ranch dressing.
