  • 16 oz extra firm tofu
  • 1 tsp soy sauce or tamari
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup gluten-free breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp lemon pepper seasoning
  • Juice and zest from 1 lemon
  • 1/2 cup vegetable broth
  • 12 tbsp honey or maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F.
  2. Drain and press the tofu, then cut it into 1-inch cubes.
  3. In a mixing bowl, toss tofu cubes with soy sauce, cornstarch, breadcrumbs, and lemon pepper seasoning until coated.
  4. Spread the tofu on a lined baking sheet and bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Meanwhile, whisk together sauce ingredients in a pot and bring to a boil; simmer until thickened.
  6. Toss baked tofu with sauce and serve warm.
